Deni Riach is the founder, lead practitioner and one of four Directors of Nature’s Living Room CIC. We tried really hard to get a good, sensible picture of her, to give you confidence in her abilities, but these are the best we could find. They do give you a feel for how she prioritises fun and informality, and puts people at their ease. She has a great line in natty headgear too.

After decades working with people in some of the most deprived communities in Glasgow and Tyneside, Deni moved on to become a youth work manager and trainer in Northumberland. She says she wanted to work with people, not paper, so jacked it all in and retrained as a Forest School Leader, setting up her own business, Deni’s Woodland Crafts in 2012.

During the Covid Lockdown, Deni turned the business into a Community Interest Company (CIC), a type of social enterprise that reinvests its profits into working with the communities. She invited three of the people she’d met to join her as Directors: Katie, Yvonne and Heather. Nature’s Living Room CIC began trading from beneath the parachute in January 2021.

They, and their kids, know how important it is to spend time outdoors, relaxed, and with other people. Especially after the lockdowns, we want more people to feel the benefits of being at home in Nature’s Living Room.

Don’t just take our word for it though – here’s some of the comments left on our facebook page:
